as Paolo told you, the things you do with the image control trigger a repaint,
that is, what you have drawn must be redrawn (by you, not by the image control
itself).
As a simple example, just draw a line a dialog, then move the dialog so that
part of the line is not visible because it's off-screen. When you move the
dialog back to make it fully visible, that part of the line has disapear, you
must redraw it.
Also if you add a paint listener you'll see when and how many repaint event
take place.
