BAD MSG:
lost the first.
Rather than APR_TRY_GCC_WARNING() which does nothing if not using gcc,
I'd rather have APR_TRY_COMPILE_NO_WARNING() (or some such) which
tries the compile and considers warnings fatal if possible. Certainly
an error would be fatal on any platform. We won't immediately know
how to make a warning fatal for every compiler, but we already know
how to for gcc and we can teach it about more as needed. For some
other compilers, saving stderr and grepping for "[Ww]arning" will be
sufficient.
Does anybody object to me doing the APR_TRY_COMPILE_NO_WARNING()
thing instead? It would have the caveat that it won't be able to
guarantee no warnings on all platforms (though I would expect it to
get fairly close to this capability real soon just by looking for
"warning" on stderr).
Thanks...
