Or perhaps do what the php project does.  If you're not a subscriber, 
you must perform a one-time "autoresponse," which can reasonably verify
that you are not a spammer.

Any additional spam that is recieved is simply blacklisted.  We haven't
had spam for awhile, while the real messages get through.
