I concur -- my programs use the numbers all the time. The
Linux man page for shutdown list the numbers in the
DESCRIPTION section and notes under BUGS
The numerical how flags should be replaced by the
Single Unix-mandated SHUT_RD, SHUT_WR, and SHUT_RDWR
flags.
