AFAICT, the reason why ppl. post "remove me from the list" messages is because they don't know that there is info. regarding unsubscribing in the mail header (IOW it's not obvious). IMO, such a detail should be mentioned at some place more visible.
That doesn't help either. I'm on several mailing lists that include both unsubscribe information and archive information at the bottom of all messages, and we still get questions about whether or not there is an archive for the list, and how to unsubscribe.
