IIRC "upstream GNU sources" didn't have anything appropriate at the time for 390 and we picked what I understood was being submitted to the FSF... things change of course...
I'll try to resync 390 stuff on the symbols set by recent GNU versions... can't hack OS/400 or OS/2 though.
