Hello! Apr's libtool uses hard links for locking purposes. It links itself into the directory of libtooled project. This wouldn't work if the libtool and the project are on different volumes.
You should send this patch to the GNU libtool maintainers as we only use libtool; we don't modify it in any way. Thanks! -- justin
