It's not test patches, it's a fix to apr_hints.m4 that shuts off kqueue on OS X because it's broken in some versions (specifically 10.4.x, the latest). I'll backport the fix once I've verified that it is indeed the cause of the difference. I'm rebuilding now to run the tests. -garrett
