Joe - we are both uneasy about that, but can you verify that libtool wants to ignore this for non-.la shared resources, if there's any comments why, and/or what your feelings are on this? Based on the understanding that -R will not override LD_LIBRARY_PATH I'm much more flexible about accepting this. Bill
