apr_file_exists?

Is there a function like apr_file_exists?  I looked but didn't spot
anything.

If not, is this a reasonable way to do it:

   APR_SUCCESS == apr_stat(&finfo, filename, APR_FINFO_TYPE, pool)

and would it be worth adding to APR?
