I agree that this needs to happen first, and separately (I thought that was all covered in the instructions, but let's sure they are up to date). This gives us a bit more time to test the RSS on trunk before releasing it too :)
I have a few issues with the parent release that need to be fixed first though: - distMgmt shouldn't be used, the inherited one is fine. The Maven POM instead overrides the deployment location, which is retrieved from settings. - I don't think the current staging location is quite right (I actually prefer to use my home directory anyway) - I can't see how the release profile that was added gets activated (bit concerning given that by the build it appears to have been :) - we're missing the remote resources plugin it appears (and this really needs work before we do a release, now that I think about it)
