I am considering undertaking an attempt to port Archiva to run under GAE with the BlobStore.
My reasoning is: I would like to have a private Maven Repository and Manager. I like Archiva it was easy to set up and does just enough of what I need it to do. I have a hosting provider that doesn't support running Java applications and re-implementing Archiva in Python, Ruby, PHP or Perl as a WSCGI or equivalent that they support seems like a lot of more work than porting Archiva to GAE. I really like using GAE for my personal projects and the BlobStore would be perfect for storing and serving artifacts and the 1GB free quota is more than enough for a personal Maven repository.
