Although we archive all of our emails (going back over 8 years for the
ArgoUML project), they've been very difficult to access due to the
weak Collabnet search facility and the fact that they refuse to let
Google and the other search engines crawl the archives. We subscribed
mail-archive.com to the lists to work around this, but this was
stymied by Tigris' use of the x-noarchive flag on email reflector up
until May 2006, preventing that archive from getting any of the
earlier messages.

Finally a solution is at hand! MarkMail now has *all* of the list
archives for all Tigris projects going back to their beginning. For
anyone who hasn't used MarkMail, it can not only do the basics like
order search results by date (which Collabnet could never figure out
how to implement), but it's got a whole array of other powerful search
facilities and some fun little graphs too. This should make the
collective knowledge of the ages much easier to access.

There are aggregators for the ArgoUML lists and all of the Tigris
lists (ArgoEclipse doesn't have enough traffic yet to justify its own
aggregator), but you can also focus your search on individual lists.
If you want to access the ArgoEclipse lists or lists associated with
ArgoUML modules or associated projects, use the Tigris aggregator.

Of course MarkMail also hosts a bunch of other mail archives as well,
including everything from all the Apache projects to Mozilla's Firefox
and Thunderbird to the W3C (going back to 1994!), so we're in good
company.

Check it out...
