Well yes, it is likely possible. However I doubt it is good use of
developers time (althoug contricutions accepted). All UML tools should
be moving towards a common format for diagram persistence and that
format is not PGML.
Magic Draw may well be ahead of us and it is actually us that should
be moving towards them.
If we were to move the diagram info into the XMI what would the options be?:
a) replicate PGML structures?
This is just the first step but I think there are no more initial
advantages than my original post.
b) replicate MagicDraw? (would this be allowed?)
c) use a version of the diagram interchange standard from a later version of
UML?
I'm not familiar with the magic draw files but I suspect they may
already use the DI format. That's the direction we should be moving in
the longer term.
