Each time the user creates a ClassifierRole or Message then we add a
model element to the MDR repository.
When saving we request MDR create the XMI of the whole model for us.
See XmiFilePersister which in turn calls ModelFilePersister which
calls Model.getXmiWriter() [from memory, please check]
So we do not generate the XMI. That is done for us by MDR.
If you're developing then I'd recommend you keep up to date with CVS
or at the very least move to the 0.22 final release.
