Dear Tom,

One aspect of the described approach that I'd like to understand better is
the replacement of the OMG UML 1.4 metamodel with a combined UML/OCL
metamodel. Does this have any impact on the rest of ArgoUML? (Or are you
taking a different approach?)
This shouldn't actually pose a problem. The integration is (pretty much) unidirectional. We do add some additional super-classes to classes in the UML metamodel, but they shouldn't cause problems. They are really only there to allow us to generalise the connection between OCL and UML, and OCL and MOF, resp. We had a paper on this at the OCL workshop in 2003: http://www-st.inf.tu-dresden.de/home/html/de/forschung/publikationen/LoecherOcke2003.pdf which explains the basic concepts.

Best regards,

Steffen
