That's definitely a known limitation of at least one of the Subversion plugins for Eclipse. I'll see if I can dig up the reference. Remember when discussing problems like this that Eclipse doesn't have native SVN functionality and there are (at least) two plugins, each with multiple versions, so the details about what you are using are important.
