Ocl4All: Modelling Systems with OCL
A Workshop conjoined to the MoDELS conference 2007
Nashville, TN, USA; September 30 to October 05, 2007

In recent years, MDA and associated MDE methodologies, approaches and
languages
emphasized the role that OCL has to play in MDE development. But beyond
using
OCL in specifying assertions and operations, new approaches and visions
reveal
beneficial usage of OCL to specify model behaviour, non-functional
properties,
compilation and evaluation of models, model transformation, and code
generation.
All these usages concern using OCL with other modelling languages in
general,
and UML in particular for modelling systems with OCL.
Topics
------
This workshop solicits research contributions and experience reports
related to
the adequacy of OCL for systems modelling, OCL refactoring and extensions in
order to support new usages of OCL specifications and new application
domains.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- OCL as a textual formalism for specifying (meta-)models and systems
- Use of OCL in Domain Specific Languages (DSLs)
- Use of OCL in specifying model behaviour. Extensions required for this
usage.
Examples of applications
- Using OCL expressions in specifying aspects
- OCL usage for navigating and querying models and databases
- OCL as a neutral standard for specifying multi-tier applications
- OCL and Model Transformations. Needed extensions.
- Using OCL specifications in meta-modelling. Completeness and
correctness of
well-formedness rules
- OCL and business process modelling
- OCL and ontology modelling
- Experience reports
- OCL Tools supporting, e.g., model compilation and execution
Venue
-----
The workshop will be organized as a part of MODELS/UML 2007 Conference in
Nashville, TN, USA. It continues the series of OCL workshops held at
previous
UML/MODELS conferences: York (2000), Toronto (2001), San Francisco (2003),
Lisbon (2004), Montego Bay (2005) and Genova (2006). Similar to its
predecessors, the work- shop addresses both people from academia and
industry.
The aim is to provide a forum for exchanging views on OCL wrt. the
visions of
MDA and MDE, languages and methodologies. Furthermore, the workshop
calls out to
research groups working on important research domains like Semantic Web or
Business Process Modelling to consider the usage of OCL and to specify
language
extensions needed.
Workshop Format
---------------
The workshop will include short (about 15 min) presentations, parallel
sessions
of working groups, and sum-up discussions. Accepted papers will be made
available on the workshop web page well before the workshop. In
addition, it is
planned that polished versions will be published by an international
publisher.
Submissions
-----------
Full papers should be 5--15 pages in length in LNCS style. Papers must be
submitted by email in PDF format to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The program committee will review the submissions and select papers
according to
their relevance and interest for the discussions that will take place at the
workshop.
