I seem to have made everyone paranoid which wasn't my intention. If
you didn't see a commit by me on Saturday against one of your modules
restoring copyright dates and @author tags, it wasn't your code that I
was talking about. Of course if anyone's feeling guilty about
something, feel free to fix your own code. :-)

The other piece of the IP puzzle that I should mention as long as I've
got everyone's attention concerns code that comes from other sources.
We need to make sure that we only include code that we have rights to.
This typically excludes code which is copyrighted by some other
person or organization and doesn't have a compatible license. Things
which should *not* be merged include: a) code from your company's
proprietary sources, and b) code which is licensed under an
incompatible license (Eclipse, CPL, any flavor of GPL, etc). If
you're not sure whether code that you're considering using is okay,
please ask.

Sorry to have alarmed folks with my earlier message. I think most
everyone generally does this right, but it's still worth the
occasional reminder to make sure we don't forget.

Tom
