Great work with this. I have some comments though.
About the announcement:
- It could contain information on that the support page function within
ArgoUML is available in the upcoming 0.26 release and not before that.
- I would like you to post this News item and then I can approve it. You
can do that immediately.
About the support page:
- I think there are too many alternatives for the users to choose from
and not enough guidance as to when to use one or the other. Especially
whether to use the Emails or the Forums. Isn't it time to stop recommending
the Users' mailing list and let it die in favor of the Forums?
- It should be clearly stated that on the Issuezilla, Users' Mailing
list, Forum, Wiki and Chat we use English.
Email/Forum in other languages (German and Spanish?) could eventually be
made available if a need arises. Actually there are Users' mailing lists for
a lot of languages created and with the Tigris upgrade they will get
promoted to Discussion Forums making them available both as mailing list and
Forums, but I don't think we should promote them until there is some
activity and the promotion is an outspoken wish from a community in that
language.
- What are the plans on making the Support page in itself available in
different languages? Should the page opened depend on the language chosen in
the application?
Another comment on promoting this:
- Whatever the decision on the Email/Forum issue is, the Tigris upgrade
allows us more possibilities to edit the footer of the mailing list
messages. I plan to use this also to promote the wiki, forums, and IRC. You
can start thinking about formulations for these.
