Hi Dave,

first I extend the <phrase></phrase> tags in the German Quick-Guide with <phrase lang="de">.

I have understand, that we take the translated text in the same file as the original document is.

example:

 <para lang="us">
If you are familiar with a family of software applications called Computer Aided Software
  Engineering (CASE) tools then you should find &argo; instantly familiar.
 </para>

 <para lang="de">
Wenn Sie mit der Familie von Softwareanwendungen vertraut sind, die Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) Tools genannt werden, sollten Sie mit &argo; sofort zurecht kommen.
 </para>

Who separates that in two separate documents?
I think, that must be done in the build.xml. You are changing it?

/Harald

Subject: Re: [argouml-dev] Merge documentation

Hi Harald, Linus,

This is probably now a discussion for the argouml-documentation mailing list.

The only way I know of currently is by hand. There are some things we can do to make it easier though.

Most of the text in all of the documentation will be within <para> </para> or <phrase></phrase> tags. These will all need to be converted to <phrase lang="xx"> or <phrase lang="xx"> where "xx" is the language of the paragraph (e.g. "en"). I think we can use a simple search and replace to do this. Then we have to copy and paste these paragraphs into one document, so that the languages appear one after the other, for each para or phrase.

After that, a few tweaks to the profiling settings, and the build script will generate the documentation in each language.

I suggest we start with the quick guide, as this is the smallest, and see how things go from there.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Harald!
I am not sure how this is best done. I hope Dave knows some good tool to do this.

    Hi Dave, Hi Linus,
     how shall we merge the documentation? By hand?
