It seems we don't have a strict schedule if that schedule can be adapted.

I don't know how much effort this is for Linus. I assume the process
is fairly automated.

I'd prefer to see releases continue so long as we have more fixes than
faults introduced since last release.

I think a date does help motivate. To miss a date is less important
then having no date to aim for.
