Hello all!
There is one problem with the license change that I have not been able to
solve and that is the question about the Copyright holder. I would like the
Copyright holder to be some kind of organization and I'd prefer if the
Conservancy would take care of this for us, especially since it might
involve some legal discussions when changing the Copyright holder from the
Regency of University of California. Alas, the Conservancy cannot do so at
the moment and they don't expect this to be solved for several months.
We have the following alternatives:
- Create an ArgoUML foundation or an organization or company, without
help of the Conservancy.
- Set the Copyright holder to something less formal such as "ArgoUML
project", "contributors to the ArgoUML project", "contributor to this file".
- Defer the license change even further to get help from the Conservancy.
Unless someone has a good knowledge on how to set up a foundation, I prefer
to wait for the Conservancy to help us in this.
Any more alternatives or ideas on how we should proceed?
