In UML1.4 there is no indication in the explorer to show ant applied stereotypes.
We already know one of the difference in the management of stereotypes is that euml stores the element that links an item to a stereotype outside the model. This is shown when you export XMI and also by the position in the explorer where the stereotype link is placed. I'm not so familiar with the explorer code but I do know there are "Go rules" that define what child nodes should be displayed under a specific node type. So I guess there is some go rule for the root of the explorer. At worse the explorer could ignore any event it receives with a a property name of "stereotype" but hopefully the go rules manage this better.
