Interesting observations about me, but entirely wrong. I wouldn't be
working on ArgoUML if I didn't think UML was useful or worthwhile. The
usage of UML has declined over the past 10-15 years that I've been writing
code, and when I ask around, part of the reason for this is a perceived
impedance mismatch between the modeling language and the implementation
languages. There's also been an increase in emphasis on agile
methodologies where big up front design (or anything beyond a whiteboarded
diagram) is discouraged.

That said, I'd like to see a resurgence in the use of UML, primarily
because I think it can actually save people time and effort, and help
people communicate their ideas more effectively. I don't believe UML
should be relegated to the scrap heap of arcane symbology. And if that
state of affairs is to change, there must be a way to bridge what people
know (the programming languages that they spend 90% of their working lives
in) and the symbolic language used to express their ideas.

My hope is that by improving ArgoUML, it can become that bridge between the
language they know, and the language they don't.
