Just tried again on karaf 2.3.2. Try installing the following bundles:

mvn:org.apache.aries.transaction/org.apache.aries.transaction.manager/1.1.0

mvn:org.apache.aries.transaction/org.apache.aries.transaction.jdbc/2.1.0-SNAPSHOT
I suppose the transaction manager could be made optional as it should only be
needed for XA stuff
