I have a few mods ... in particular I've re-read the instructions for PMC and I believe there always was a way of creating a new apache ID and having access granted without involving the Chair (ahem me). So that should have worked for Tom. But for existing Apache committers not in the 'aries' unix group, that needs the Chair.
There are some dates that need changing (should be release dates not vote start dates). and I'll add the aries-rsa release.
