Thanks! Also, I noticed you changed the description to "Updates to make dev on Windows easier" instead of "Windows and Java". I guess the issues I've run into would affect development on other languages; for example, the checkstyle config is not specific to Java, nor is the flatc compiler, but I'd have to review builds for the other languages.
It's a worthwhile goal to remove blocks to developers on Windows, but I'm not sure about the scope of this. I think the flatc dependency would be the biggest headache.
