Hello,

Arrow C++ and its bindings have corresponding packages in conda-forge, which are maintained in https://github.com/conda-forge/arrow-cpp-feedstock/ and https://github.com/conda-forge/r-arrow-feedstock.

These package configurations are also supposed to be tested against our own master branch using some dedicated CI configurations exercised in our nightly builds:
https://github.com/apache/arrow/tree/master/dev/tasks/conda-recipes

Unfortunately, these recipes and their respective CI setups have become very complicated, and are a specialist's work. Moreover, our dedicated CI configuration is out of sync with the conda-forge configurations: different dependency versions, different toolchains... (*) Therefore, it is not clear what our nightly builds are testing, nor whether there is any point in running them.

Do we have anyone motivated to maintain and evolve these conda build configurations, as well as the corresponding conda-forge recipes / feedstocks?

Regards

Antoine.
