It seems that the fix that prompted the release was never tagged as 15.0.1 [1]
I never double checked as there were a bunch of issues tagged as 15.0.1 and I was not following the individual specific issues. I assumed the issue was tagged with the correct milestone. I will have to create 15.0.2 to fix the Java issue.
