Hello,
We would like to announce that the German government-backed Sovereign
Tech Agency has decided to fund critical maintenance and
infrastructure-related tasks for Apache Arrow. The grant is handled by
QuantStack, a French and European open source scientific software
company which employs two Arrow PMC members, Raúl Cumplido and I.
This allows funding core work that is unlikely to be paid for by regular
corporate clients, and represents around 0.8 FTE during 2 years.
As a matter of fact, we have already started working on some of the
items planned by this grant. I am improving the fuzzing setup for the
IPC and Parquet readers in C++, while Raúl is doing a lot of important
background work on continuous integration and release management.
