Hi AsterixDB Community, My name is Pratham Tomar, and I am writing to express my interest in contributing to Apache AsterixDB for Google Summer of Code 2026.
I have been looking through the Jira issues and am particularly interested in two AI/LLM-focused projects: 1. ASTERIXDB-3696: NL2SQL++ assistant 2. ASTERIXDB-3695: LLM Agent Protocols/Memory I am currently setting up my local development environment and reviewing the architecture papers (AsterixDB Overview, Hyracks, and recent arxiv publications). I am also familiarizing myself with the HTTP API and Metadata system in the codebase. Could you point me toward any good "good first issues" related to the HTTP API or metadata management that would help me understand the execution flow better? Also, if there are any specific LLM frameworks (like LangChain4j) or protocol documentation (like MCP) the mentors recommend reviewing before writing my proposal, I would love to know.
