I think that’s because https://repository.apache.org is currently down [1]. 
So there’s not too much you can do on your machine …

Seems like you have not added generated sources as a valid source path in 
your IDEA project settings: if you successfully build the asterix
top-project with maven you should see auto-generated source files under 
asterix-test-framework/target/generated-sources/xjc/org/apache/asterix/testframework/xml.
You should make those files visible to IDEA.
