it seems that the containers differ in details again much more, than I thought of. So I will concentrate on Fortress now. At the current stage (near to a release) it is possibly best just making the current scheme more useful. I agree on your concerns about the Fortress' xlog, but as you've indicated too, the sandbox is the proper position to come up with a better model.
