We have not received any further updates or information about the Avalon
Enterprise package, and we have come to the June "deadline" for the
resolution of the OpenORB licensing issues. Truthfully, it does not
look like we are any closer to resolution on those issues.

We have only one developer that has shown real interest in the
Enterprise stuff, and there have been no commits to it in a while.
That leads me to believe that it one of the following is true:

1) It is dead code of no real use to anyone.

2) The Avalon team doesn't have any real idea of what it is, how
to use it, or what problems it solves.

3) It is of real use to people outside of Avalon, but not necessarily
   inside.

Truthfully, I think the answer is somewhere between 2 and 3. To that
end, we have a few options ahead of us:

1) Move it to sandbox.

2) Move it to OpenORB's CVS repository.

3) Try to build a community around it in Incubator.

My guess is that the software really is useful, but without anyone besides Stephen even knowing what is in there it really makes things difficult to help out. I would like to have a resting place for it that really makes sense.

From what I understand, it is not an Application in the Phoenix SAR
sense, but rather a set of components. As a result there is no real
reason for it to exist in Avalon Apps.

Please consider the three alternatives above and start thinking about
what is best for the long term location for Avalon Enterprise. We need
to look at that.
