BTW, the diff file had the end of lines all garbled up, so discerning what

did was pretty tough.
How did you generate the diff?
Like this:
cvs -z3 diff -ub >> new-patch.diff
Hmm. That should work. What is your CVS client? Are you using Cygwin, or straight from a Unix box?
we will have to fix the files CRLF endings.
