The management of logging information inside Merlin is not where I would like it to be. Basically the excalibur logging package did not provide me with what I wanted (insufficient seperation of container verus component meta data concerns). In an ideal world I would like to spend some time getting in place a logging meta-model that completetly addresses targets, categories, formats, target rollover semantics, formats etc. But its not a pefect world and it isn't done yet.
