I'm probably not the best one to respond to this since I'm still not
completely familiar with the entire site (but not for long!); however, as I
see it, we're currently using:
- site.xml : used, but not well or consistently
(sometimes I like the older book.xml format myself)
- docbook : for the Developing With Avalon site. Maven has a docbook
plugin, but I don't know how well it works
Some things we could be using but aren't:
- status.xml : for TODO and CHANGES lists
- PDF generation : our stylesheets don't support this
In summary, we don't really need to be using Forrest. In general, I think
forrest is a great tool. I'd like to see it mature a bit more and I'd like
to get a maven plugin for it. I suppose if I can get the docbook stuff to
render with the maven plugin that we might want to consider migrating it all
back to anakia.
