Perhaps Avalon# doesn't need selectors, but Merlin does need a more standard way of arbitrary service lookup or discovery. One way to do that is with the exporter and using JNDI, but at some point I'd like to hack something together to provide better backwards compatibility in Merlin so that Fortress and Phoenix based apps will port better. But you're right -- this can be a long discussion that deserves its own thread when the interested parties have time to actually do some coding. J.
