when you launch your vote as a dev vote cannot override a veto.

Stephen,

Can you please explain the procedural reason for this request? Are you
referring to your prior -1 vote?

Procedurally - a veto stops something from happening providing the veto is back with a reasonable explanation. The normal way to remove a veto is my convincing the person that raises a veto that its not necessary or unjustified or whatever. This can involve a bunch of people ganging up on that individual and through different pressures (logic, bribery, corruption, etc.) convince the veto holder to remove their veto.

Aside of this process - there are two options available to someone to get around a veto. One option is for the PMC to override the veto. Another option is to declare a revolution [1]. Declaring a revolution in this case would involve forking the framework, making the change, lobby all of your friends about the new improved solution, and a subsequent majority vote of a product release that would place the old framework into retirement and the new framework as the active supported product.

Unless you are planning on vetoing the current proposal, I don't see any
reason for this.

I'm not planning of vetoing anything!

I'm only raising a procedural point. Leo's proposal suggests that he is planning on lunching a committer vote that is inconsistent with a standing veto and could potentially (although unlikely) lead to an invalid result.

Cheers, Steve.
