To whom it may concern,
We have just recently upgraded from an older version of JacORB to JacORB 2.0, and we now get the following error message when starting the ORB: NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log/format/PatternFormatter org.jacorb.util.LogKitLoggerFactory ...
We use Log4j for our application code, but it appears as if the newer version of JacORB needs an Avalon logger (e.g., PatternFormatter) for its internal logging mechanism. Do we need to download logkit-1.2.2.jar or LogKit-1.0.1-bin.tar.gz?
1.2.2 is the lastest released version of LogKit. Unless you have additional info from the JacORB distribution that states otherwise I would try this version.
You can download any of the binary released from our distribution site: http://mir2.ovh.net/ftp.apache.org/dist/avalon/logkit/binaries/
Steve.
