YES. But here is the difference,
If there is a strong contract enforced on the component, it is possible to
build both types of systems, i.e. the Atlantic Bridge vs The Plank Across the
Creek.
If there is not, only the plank will be possible.

I never said to turn electronics engineers into software architects. But the
software community at large should be exposed to the really nice tools those
guys use.
