Following the establishment of a SNAPSHOT excalibur pool and thread package with api/impl separation including removal of deprecated content - I have managed to establish a complete cornerstone suite that no longer has dependencies on any deprecated content. A side effect of this process is the elimination of dependencies on the excalibur-event package, and the establishment of 2.0 candidate status on some of the cornerstone API and implementations.
This completes a setup of a set of cornerstone candidates that are independent of any excalibur deprecated content. Next steps include impact assessment on the james project (relative to CVS HEAD), and on merlin based application content linked to cornerstone.
