:-) I'm watching the Avalon Spec discussion. I think that the participants
in it are starting realize that they are actually more in agreement than
disagreement on the issues, but sometimes the tone of their agreement comes
across as a disagreement.

If Hammet, Niclas, Hamilton, Timothy, Andreas, et al, can continue to drive
the Avalon Spec discussion constructively, I think that it will bode well
for Avalon, for other Avalon-based containers such as Jicarilla, and help to
heal a lot of the rifts. And it doesn't entirely matter how closely the
"dream" is achieved. It is more important that the spirit of respectful
collaboration (I wish everyone saw the adjective as redundant) flourish,
than rush to coding nirvana.

One thing bothers me greatly. I was pleased to see the discussion on issues
in Avalon Spec, and also between Carsten and Niclas on the lookup mechanism.
So why was I scanning for certain names to see if they had thrown a
discordant note into the works? As I said, that bothers me greatly. I'm
sure I'm not the only one who has been developing a learned response to
associate certain names with discord in the context of this mailing list. I
mention this so that everyone can be aware of (a) not being one of them, and
(b) making sure that we read each message for what is actually written, and
not see a negative response simply because we expect it based upon whom is
posting.
