So is the validity:
1. Guaranteed while the source component is unreleased?
2. Guaranteed for ever?
3. Not guaranteed at all?
4. See component docs.
In real life, #4 (can think of cases where its 2 and where its 3). I think #1 is nearest to the desireable situation. "forever" is not an option (there is no "forever", ever), whereas "not at all" is too much of a pain.
