While building merlin from CVS this afternoon, I came across a bug in the avalon/merlin/maven.xml file. Basically an <ant:zipfileset> directive was prematurely terminated.
Fix. Committed. Build works fine.
Also, Steve... regarding the weird behaviour I was seeing with the alias parameter on the @avalon.entry meta tags, that problem went away when I did a clean fetch and build of Merlin from CVS. Therefore, I didn't open a JIRA issue.
