You asked for help and suggestions. If you're going to rollback someone's changes, it works a lot better if you mention something on the mailing list first so we can discuss the whys and wherefores. You might even find out that the author will agree with your rollback reasons and will feel less brushed aside than simply JFDI without any attempt at collaboration.

Sorry for the flame. I didn't see or get your other response on the mailing list until after I had sent this. However, I still think the best policy on rollbacks is to send to the mailing list first and then commit.
