Hello. Trying to resurrect this thread before it gets lost. :)
The wiki is (still) a bit of a mess. Moreover, with the new site design, the role of the wiki becomes even more questionable. So here's my proposal: Make the wiki into our FAQ 'database'. I can separate out the existing wiki information into a couple categories: - Documentation that should be moved into the main site - Outdated documentation - Interesting muses and proposals - FAQ quality information The front page of the wiki would lead to links into these three categories, but the majority of the wiki would be devoted towards a comprehensive Avalon FAQ database. I believe the wiki works very well for this purpose because (1) it allows users to enter FAQ entries and (2) it allows us to quickly and easily keep an FAQ up to date. Before I even attempt to do this, I'm looking for some +1's. Normally, I would just do it. But since there hasn't always been a lot of other involvement in the wiki, I want to make sure there is some other support from the dev community about this idea. I'd rather not maintain the whole FAQ myself forever. Also, I'd like to see a FAQ menu item on the new site, probably next to the tutorial and concepts links. The new FAQ would be at: http://wiki.apache.org/avalon/FrequentlyAskedQuestions What do you think? J.
