So, I go up to google and I type "avalon framework", the first link is
http://avalon.apache.org/framework/
well, sounds about right, doesn't it?
I click on it and this redirects me to
http://avalon.apache.org/products/runtime/reference/component/lifecycle/index.html
where it says (I'm not joking!):
"Lifecycle management concerns the process of incarnation, runtime management, and etherialization"
Etherialization?
[At this point, the poor user is left with the quest of deciding what the heck he's looking at and, more important, understanding what happened to that useful PDF tutorial that his friend was talking about]

The current committers of the avalon project have the rights to deal with the present and future of the project, but they have no rights to change the past, especially if so many projects and users depend on it.
