Combine this proposal with the tooltips and we have something that would have a middle ground for us.

Subject: Re: [site] framework docs mock-up
It is too buried. I need something from the main page that will get me directly where I need to go. How you get to this spot requires you to through the "Merlin" product and click "Systems". This is not intuitive if I know there is something called Avalon Framework.
I think Systems needs to be on the main page--or at the very least Avalon Framework.
Niclas has made the suggestion privately (and I got his permission to post publicly here) of making this change to the site:
Middle column becoming 'Catalog' containing a reference to Merlin and a reference to Spare Parts
With this proposal:
* We change the "Products" column on the main page to "Catalog". There will be two icons under Catalog: (1) Merlin, and (2) Spare Parts (probably a synonym will work better) * The Spare Parts icon links to a page that describes all the bits that enable developers to build Avalon components and containers, like Framework, Meta, Repo, Logkit, etc.
This is a compromise I can live with. It removes *Products* as a terminology from the site, which I'm not agreeable to, but also doesn't promote Framework as a specific product either. Decent compromise, and beats the hell out of sending Merlin to the Incubator IMO.
Coupled with Carsten's suggestion to release the framework bug fixes in 4.2 as a 4.1.6, which will allow us not to a marketing-driven Avalon-5 version bump, I could live with these changes.
WDYT?
